Information Sellbook handles

Why information is used

Information is used to create and secure accounts; provide product, stock, sales, expense, report, backup and synchronisation features; operate optional Buybook listings, subscriptions, messages and reservations; answer support requests; prevent abuse; maintain service reliability; and meet applicable legal obligations.

Depending on the activity, processing may be necessary to provide the service requested by the user, comply with a legal obligation, pursue legitimate interests such as account security and service reliability, or rely on consent for an optional activity. Where consent is the basis, it may be withdrawn for future processing, subject to other lawful grounds.

Account security and automated abuse checks

Sellbook may display a Cloudflare Turnstile security check when a user creates an email account, signs in with email and password, requests a password-recovery email, resends an account-confirmation email, or requests an account-verification code. The check is used to reduce automated abuse and protect the shared authentication service. Cloudflare processes technical challenge and request information needed to provide this security check. The check does not grant access to business records or a buyer's live location; normal account and shop permissions still apply.

Marketplace images and automated review

When a seller chooses to connect a shop to Buybook, the uploaded shop-front photograph is submitted to an automated image-classification check to determine whether it clearly depicts the outside front or entrance of a physical shop. The current classifier runs through Cloudflare Workers AI using the @cf/moondream/moondream3.1-9B-A2B model. The result may approve or reject the shop-front image; an inconclusive result does not approve the shop.

Automated image review can make mistakes. A seller who believes a photo was rejected incorrectly can contact Sellbook Support and request a review. The shop-front image may be publicly accessible when used for a connected Buybook shop. Do not upload images containing people, identity documents, private interiors or unrelated personal information.

Sellbook's current shop-front check is an image check; this notice does not describe or authorise face matching or national identity number verification.

Where information is stored and who provides services

Signed-in cloud records, authentication data and uploaded files are handled by Supabase. The configured database is hosted in the EU West (Ireland) region. The web app is hosted through Vercel and uses Cloudflare infrastructure for delivery, backup deployment and the optional shop-front image-classification service. Google may process authentication information when a user chooses Google sign-in.

These service providers process information as needed to provide their services. Depending on the service and infrastructure location, information may be processed outside Nigeria. Before unrestricted launch, the operator must review the providers' applicable data-processing terms and confirm the safeguards required for any international transfer.

Buybook listing and shop-front images are made public when the seller chooses to publish a connected shop. Public listings may be viewed by anyone. Private Sellbook product images and private business records are not intended to be publicly available.

Optional live location sharing

Buybook's Locate seller feature is optional. It does not start when a buyer merely browses a product, opens a shop page or views an ordinary map. The buyer must tap Locate seller, review the notice, tap Start sharing live location and grant location permission in the device browser. The buyer can stop sharing from Buybook at any time.

During an active session, the service receives the buyer's current latitude and longitude and, when the device supplies them, GPS accuracy, heading and speed. The session is linked to the one shop the buyer selected (and to the product when started from a product page). Only the authenticated owner of that connected shop and the buyer's own session can read the live location. Other shops, sellers, buyers and public visitors cannot search for or view that location. The seller receives a notification that a buyer is locating the shop; the notification itself does not contain GPS coordinates.

Live updates are intended to work while Buybook remains open and the phone has GPS and internet access. Mobile browsers and installed web apps may pause GPS updates when the app is backgrounded, the screen is locked, battery-saving is enabled or connectivity is lost. Sellbook indicates when a signal is no longer current; it must not be treated as guaranteed background tracking or emergency location service.

A session expires after 30 minutes and is also closed after three minutes without a fresh update. Tapping Stop sharing clears the precise coordinates immediately. Stopped and expired session rows are retained for up to seven days for operational cleanup and then deleted. For a guest buyer, Buybook also creates a temporary anonymous authentication record so the location session can be securely identified and stopped. Guest records created by this feature are scheduled for deletion after 30 days without further location use, provided no active session remains. This does not create a registered Buybook account or grant reservation, messaging or follow-shop privileges. A buyer can also revoke browser location permission in the device or browser settings.

Buybook and Sellbook display maps using Leaflet and OpenStreetMap map tiles. The map service may receive ordinary tile requests that reveal the approximate map area being viewed; the buyer's exact GPS coordinates are not intentionally sent to OpenStreetMap as a location-tracking feed. OpenStreetMap tile availability is subject to its usage policy.

How long information is kept

Account and business information is kept while the account is active and as needed to provide the service, respond to support requests, maintain security, resolve disputes and meet legal obligations. When an account is deleted, Sellbook runs its account-deletion process for cloud account data and account-owned files. Data already exported by a user, publicly copied content, and copies retained in independent provider backups may not be removed immediately by that process.

Users should export a backup and allow pending offline changes to synchronise before deleting an account. Backup files can contain sensitive business records and should be stored securely.

Your privacy choices and rights

Subject to applicable law, users may request access to their personal data, correction of inaccurate information, deletion, restriction of processing, data portability, or object to certain processing. Where processing relies on consent, users may withdraw that consent. Users may also lodge a complaint with the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.

Signed-in users can submit a privacy request through Me → Support in Sellbook and include “Privacy request” in the subject or message. People who cannot sign in can email sellbook.support@gmail.com directly.

Security and user responsibilities

Sellbook uses authenticated access, account-scoped database permissions and server-side checks for sensitive operations. No online service or device storage can be guaranteed completely secure. Use a unique password, protect your device, sign out on shared devices, do not share your Sellbook PIN, and keep independent backups.

Do not enter passwords, payment-card details, government identity numbers or unrelated sensitive personal information into product names, sales notes, expense notes or support messages.

Payments and financial information

Sellbook is a business-record and inventory tool. The app does not collect or store payment-card details or hold customer funds. Users and buyers arrange payment directly with one another outside Sellbook. Sales and expense amounts entered into Sellbook are business records supplied by the user.

Updates and contact

This notice may be updated when Sellbook's features, service providers or legal obligations change. The operator should notify users of material changes through an appropriate in-app notice.

Operator note: The operator details above were supplied by the proprietor. The email address must be kept active and monitored for privacy and support requests. This notice still requires review against the operator's actual processing activities, applicable Nigerian data-protection requirements and any international data-transfer safeguards before unrestricted public launch.
