Privacy policy Effective 23 October 2026
1. Information Sellbook handles
Sellbook may handle information needed to operate your account and business records, including:
- Account details such as your email address and authentication identifier.
- Products, prices, stock quantities, sales, expenses, notes and stock adjustments you enter.
- Optional business profile details and product or business-logo images you choose to upload.
- Records stored on your device, cached data and pending changes used for offline access and synchronisation.
2. How information is stored
Some records may be saved in the browser on your device. When you sign in and use cloud features, records and uploaded images are stored through Sellbook’s configured Supabase services. Google sign-in, when used, is handled by the relevant authentication provider.
Offline changes may remain on your device until you reconnect and synchronisation succeeds. Anyone who can access your unlocked device or browser profile may be able to view locally stored records.
3. Why information is used
Information is used to provide sign-in, sales and expense recording, stock management, summaries and reports, syncing, image display, backup and restore, and account-related functions. Avoid putting passwords, payment-card details or unrelated sensitive personal information in business notes.
4. Access and sharing
Cloud records are intended to be separated by account. Sellbook relies on hosting, database and authentication providers to operate, and their own privacy terms may also apply. Do not share your login credentials or backup files with people you do not trust.
5. Backups, retention and deletion
Use the app’s backup/export feature to keep a copy of important records. Exported files may contain sensitive business information, so store them securely. Before deleting an account, export anything you need and resolve pending offline changes. Account deletion may permanently remove account data; it cannot necessarily remove copies already exported or held in independent backups.
6. Security and your choices
Use a strong, unique sign-in credential, keep your device locked and updated, sign out on shared devices, and make regular backups. No storage or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure. Only enter information needed to manage your business records.
7. Identity verification (when enabled)
When Sellbook enables identity verification, you may be asked to complete a live camera/liveness check and submit your name, date of birth and Nigerian National Identification Number (NIN) to the configured identity-verification provider. Sellbook uses the provider result to verify the account holder and prevent the same verified identity from maintaining multiple active accounts. Sellbook stores a keyed, privacy-minimised identity fingerprint and limited verification references rather than retaining a copy of your NIN or face image in its application database. Verification attempts and provider references are subject to limited retention and deletion rules. Do not proceed unless you consent to this processing. Provider terms and privacy notices also apply.
8. Changes and privacy questions
This policy may be updated as Sellbook changes. Please use the Support option in the app to contact Sellbook about questions or concerns. Applicable privacy rights under Nigerian law are not intended to be excluded by this notice.
This policy explains the app’s intended data handling in plain language and is not legal advice.
Terms of use Effective 23 October 2026
1. What Sellbook provides
Sellbook is a business record-keeping tool for products, stock, sales, expenses and summaries. It is designed to help you organise records; it is not a bank, payment processor, guaranteed backup service, accountant, tax adviser or substitute for professional advice.
2. Your records and responsibility
You are responsible for the accuracy, completeness and lawful use of information entered into the app. Check important totals, prices, stock balances and reports independently before relying on them for business decisions, accounting or tax purposes.
3. Accounts and device security
Keep your sign-in details private and protect devices where you use Sellbook. You are responsible for activity performed through your account and for restricting access to your device and exported backups. Do not try to access another user’s records or bypass the app’s security controls.
4. Offline use and synchronisation
Offline changes may stay on your device until connectivity returns and synchronisation succeeds. Network problems, storage limitations, conflicts or service interruptions can delay syncing. Check sync status before assuming another device has the latest information, and back up records regularly.
5. Acceptable use
Use Sellbook lawfully and do not upload content you do not have the right to use. Do not misuse the service, interfere with its operation, attempt unauthorised access or use it to store information unrelated to its intended business-record purpose.
6. Availability and limitations
The app may be updated, interrupted or temporarily unavailable. Reasonable care is taken, but uninterrupted access, error-free calculations or permanent data retention cannot be guaranteed. Keep your own backups and verify important records. To the extent permitted by applicable law, the operator is not responsible for losses arising from inaccurate entries, lost devices, missing backups or unsynchronised changes.
7. Stopping use and deleting an account
You may stop using Sellbook and use available account controls to request account deletion. Export records you need and resolve pending sync changes first. Deletion may be permanent, and previously exported copies may remain outside the app.
8. Updates and applicable rights
These terms may change as Sellbook develops. Continued use after updated terms are presented means you should review the changes before continuing. Nothing in these terms is intended to remove consumer or other legal rights that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
These are plain-language terms for the app and are not a substitute for legal advice.
